State releases new COVID-19 reopening guidance

The state of California last week released the new Blueprint for a Safer Economy: a blueprint for reducing COVID-19 in the state with revised criteria for loosening and tightening restrictions on activities. Placer's placement into the 'purple' tier is due to inclusion of data from early August, when we were still on the former Monitoring List. We expect to have news around movement to the 'red' tier and additional easing of restrictions around Sept. 8 if trends continue in the right direction.

Supervisors adopt historic Placer County Conservation Program

The Placer County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday advanced the first-of-its-kind Placer County Conservation Program. The program would permanently conserve more than 47,000 acres of open space and agricultural land in western Placer County – the equivalent of 55 Central Parks – and streamline the permitting process for locally-approved development projects. Learn more
