Teresa Rich will serve as Yakima Valley College’s interim president starting on Aug. 1, 2024.
The changes comes as YVC President Linda Kaminski retires after 29 years.
Rich has spent 23 years at YVC and for 18 years has served as vice president for administrative services, a news release from YVC stated.
She has over two decades of experience in higher education, accounting and administrative services.
“We are pleased to be able to call upon Dr. Rich’s extensive experience in higher education and many years as a member of the YVC community to serve as our interim president while we undertake the search process for a permanent president,” Patrick Baldoz, chair of the YVC Board of Trustees, said in the release.
Rich earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Central Washington University, a PhD in education with a focus on community college leadership from Oregon State University and is a member of the Washington Community and Technical College Strategic Technology Advisory Committee.
