Wills & Deeds Administrator

We are seeking to recruit an Wills and Deeds Administrator to work with our Bedford office

An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and well organised legal assistant in our friendly, well established and approachable administration team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain databases for Wills and Deeds, ensuring accurate records for movement of all original documents stored
  • Responsible for the organisation, safe custodian and release of Wills, Lasting Power of Attorney’s, Probates and other associated legal documents
  • General administrative tasks
  • Dealing with queries raised by clients, solicitors, executors and family, whether face to face, by telephone, email or letter
  • Making detailed attendance notes of all correspondence
  • Opening/closing files on the case management system, compliant with the firm’s AML and quality standards and SRA and CQS regulations
  • Retrieval of documents from storage
  • Scanning and photocopying of documents
  • Preparing and submitting bills, receipts and payments to the finance team
  • Occasional reception cover
    • Telephone answering
    • Taking card payments.
    • Open and sort incoming ost
    • Maintain diaries & booking of interview rooms
  • Prepare and deliver the banking
  • Take recorded mail and special deliveries to the Post Office
  • Witnessing Wills & occasional home visit with Fee Earner
  • Adhoc assistance required from Chief Operating Officer

Requirements for this role include:

  • Preferably previous work experience in a law firm
  • Advanced computer literacy (word, excel, outlook)
  • Working knowledge of case management software
  • Proficiency in English
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Driving Licence

  • Hours - Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:15
