WISE is a statewide coalition of organizations and individuals building resilient and hopeful communities by promoting inclusion and support for all affected by mental health challenges. WISE implements and advances evidence-based practices for stigma reduction.

Rogers InHealth is pleased to welcome Karen Nelson (EMBA) as Rogers Behavioral Health's first ever director of equity, diversity, and inclusion and Jessica Langill, Rogers EDI Coordinator.

Some of Karen’s responsibilities include:

  • Research, develop, recommend and execute EDI principles, goals, processes, strategies and metrics.
  • Partner with the Marketing and Communications department including the Outreach team to promote and highlight EDI programs.
  • Provide coaching and consultation to Rogers leaders and employees on all areas of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Karen Nelson holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Bennett College in Greensboro, NC, and an executive MBA from the Lubar School of Business Management at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

 

Jessica  joins Rogers in a second new role as EDI coordinator to support the equity goals for Rogers

Jessica earned her master’s degree in organizational leadership with an emphasis in civic engagement and a bachelor’s degree in psychology with supports in women and gender studies and community leadership and development. She comes to us after four years as the equal rights specialist for the City of Milwaukee.

Both Karen and Jessica have successfully led their previous organizations through earning an increased Human Rights Campaign’s Municipality Equality Index score and Government Alliance on Racial Equity (GARE) participation.
