Hi Neighbors,

A final environmental impact report on the Placer County Housing Element Sites Rezone program will be available for public review April 18.

The rezone program is part of the county’s 2021-2029 Housing Element, a comprehensive plan aimed at addressing and accommodating Placer County’s housing needs while ensuring equitable access to housing options. The county’s Housing Element requires completion of a rezone program by May 2024 to accommodate a shortfall of land identified for multifamily residential development.

The final EIR includes 72 properties dispersed throughout unincorporated Placer County; however, not all properties subject to environmental review will be included in the program.

We have scheduled two public hearings on the rezone program. The Planning Commission will host a hearing at 9 a.m. on April 25, and the Board of Supervisors will host a hearing at 9 a.m. on May 21.

More information on the program and how to access the EIR documents can be found here: https://www.placer.ca.gov/9698/Final-rez...

Hello, I need your help finding my family. I'm a MALE (neutered) DOMESTIC SHORTHAIR CAT (ID#A332445) FOUND ON 04/16/2024 in ROSEVILLE. I am currently at Placer County Animal Services Center in Auburn. If you're my parent, call (530) 886-5540 and provide my animal ID number so we can go home. If you recognize me as a neighbor’s pet, please let them know where to find me. If you’ve lost a pet but haven’t seen a post from us on NextDoor, check the Placer County Animal Services’ Lost & Found pages here: https://placer.ca.gov/lostpets. We post to neighborhoods where a pet was found, but some travel well beyond his/her neighborhood before being found. Visit our website for tips to help locate lost animals. The Placer County Animal Services Center in Auburn takes in animals in Placer County, excluding the City of Roseville and the Lake Tahoe area. Check the Placer SPCA: http://placerspca.org/ or the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe: http://hstt.org/ if it is possible your animal would be in those jurisdictions.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Hello, Neighbors.

Your neighborhood trail is getting some much-needed improvements.

A two-mile portion of the Dry Creek Trail will be closed to the public April 22 - 30.

Our crews will be asphalt patching, cracking filing and shoulder backing, i.e., we're smoothing the trail!

For more information, contact our Parks Division at parks@placer.ca.gov or 530-886-4901.

Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation - we're excited to get this project started.

Sincerely,
