PORT ANGELES — A Clallam County corrections sergeant was allegedly assaulted by an inmate as the inmate was in the process of being released from custody.
George M. Parrish V, 23, punched the corrections officer in the arm on Thursday, according to a press release from the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.
Parrish was in the process of being released on a physical control arrest but was instead booked for custodial assault, a Class C felony. He was released from jail on Friday.
When Parrish entered his cell on Thursday, he turned an swung a closed fist at the corrections officer, the press release said. He became more aggressive and tried to kick at the responding deputies, who quickly restrained him in a full-body system, the press release said.
