As part of the Library’s vision to connect all Americans and to empower new generations and diverse audiences to explore its enduring treasury of information, Of the People: Widening the Path enhances and supports diverse and inclusive participation in the creation and perpetuation of the nation’s historical and creative record. The following Of the People grant, internship and fellowship opportunities are available.

Junior Fellows Internship Program

The Library of Congress Junior Fellows Internship Program enables emerging professionals (undergraduate, graduate students and recent graduates) to gain career experience by working with analog and digital collections and supporting the services of the world’s largest library. Opportunities are available for undergraduate and graduate students, and recent graduates.

Applications for the 2024 Junior Fellows Program are being accepted now through Monday, November 27, 2023.

Archives, History and Heritage Advanced Internship Program (AHHA)

The Archives, History and Heritage Advanced Internship Program (AHHA) gives the next generation of diverse archivists and knowledge workers invaluable opportunities to analyze, preserve, and bring to light collections that represent the rich cultural and creative heritage of the United States. Opportunities are available for currently enrolled undergraduate juniors and seniors, masters, and Ph.D. candidates from all majors, as well as those who have recently graduated.

Applications for Fall 2023 closed on Monday, April 24, 2023.

Connecting Communities Digital Initiative Grants

Connecting Communities Digital Initiative (CCDI) Grants encourage projects that remix and reuse Library digital collections in creative and imaginative ways that center Black, Indigenous, Hispanic or Latino, Asian American and Pacific Islander and/or other communities of color. Opportunities are available for Libraries, Archives, Museums, and Minority-Serving Higher Education Institutions.

Artist/Scholar-in-Residence

The Artist/Scholar-in-Residence program supports the creation of new scholarly and/or artistic works that will deepen the connection between the Library and Black, Indigenous, Hispanic or Latino, Asian American and Pacific Islander and/or other communities of color through new or re-imagined uses of technology.
