Lewis County commissioners declare legislative priorities

Additional funding to replace the roof on the Lewis County Historical Museum and upgrades to the Southwest Fairgrounds equestrian facilities are among the priorities Lewis County hopes to receive state assistance on.

On Tuesday, the Board of Lewis County Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution designating the county’s five-point agenda when lawmakers return to the state Capitol. According to the resolution, the priorities will “directly improve operational and financial sustainability of the county.”

The priorities for the Lewis County commissioners include:

• Funding for improvements to the North Lewis County Highway Interchange

• Senior services



• Bedrock tax and assessment capability

• Southwest Washington Fairgrounds equestrian upgrades

• A roof replacement at the Lewis County Historical Museum

The 2024 legislative session begins on Jan. 8.
