Emerging Status for Esports Extended

The VHSL Executive Committee voted at the end of last year to “reset the clock” for esports and its emerging status in the League. This means that the League has until the end of the ’24-’25 academic year to determine if esports will become a fully sanctioned and sponsored activity under the Emerging Activity guidelines.

Esports Rules Clinics

ONLINE DATES | September 5 thru September 30, 2023

It is important to note that the deadline to complete the rules clinic is September 30 at 11:59 p.m. Schools that sponsor these activities must ensure that at least one activity coach/adviser from the staff completes the clinic in its entirety. Failure to do so will result in a penalty, as outlined in rule 30-5-1. School completion lists will be updated and posted on the VHSL website. Coaches/Advisers will not receive a certificate of completion.

If you do not have a coach/adviser hired by the deadline for a fall activity, please email Sharon Condoulis ([email protected]) and Shawn Knight ([email protected]) at the league office.

You must register for each Rules Clinic you are required to attend.
