7:10 P.M. UPDATE -- Wenatchee Valley Fire Chief Brian Brett confirmed that crews have fully contained the Webb Avenue fire in East Wenatchee. Brett told Source ONE News that the fire had been contained at around 7 p.m. The wind-fueled fire grew to roughly 80-acres over the course of four hours. Fire officials also confirmed that the fire had started near the Waste Management plant, but the cause remains under investigation. No structures burned and no one was hurt.

EAST WENATCHEE - A 17-acre brush fire is torching a hillside near East Wenatchee as of Tuesday afternoon. The blaze is burning off Webb Avenue in East Wenatchee near 4th Street. The high winds have contributed to the fire's significant growth, prompting Level 2 evacuations for the area of Batterman Rd., Anderson Lane, Keane Grade Rd., and Sageland Rd. Batterman Road between Pangborn roundabout and Keane Grade Rd. has been closed while crews work. There have been no reports of any structures burned or injuries as a result of the three-alarm fire. State crews are getting involved as resources continue to ramp up on the fire. The cause of the fire has not been determined. Air resources and ground crews are currently tending to the blaze.
