The Hooke Fellowship in Policy and Leadership

Applications for the 2024 Hooke Fellowship will open on December 1, 2023.

 

The Hooke Fellowship for Policy and Leadership is a competitive award for scientists and professionals who possess exceptional aptitude for and commitment to advancing public interest. Selection of Hooke Fellows is based on a combination of past accomplishments and future potential. Faculty from HBCUs and MSIs may also apply for other financial support.

 

Recipients of this fellowship attend the AMS Summer Policy Colloquium in the year of their selection. The standard costs of attending the Colloquium, including tuition and travel support, are covered as part of the award.

 

The Hooke Fellowship is an AMS Policy Program award.

 

 

Application Procedure for the Hooke Fellowship in Policy and Leadership:

 

Electronic submissions are required for Hooke Fellowship applications. We request that applicants provide: 1) a cover letter that highlights their: interest in policy; notable contributions to science, service, and the public; and potential for future public service through policy engagement (two page maximum);  2) a CV;  and 3) contact information for two references. Additional letters of support may be included but are not required.

 

To apply, register or login with AMS Apply (apply.ametsoc.org) and search for "Hooke Fellowship" in the program list. All applications must be submitted by April 1, 2024.
