BIPOC in the Built Information Network
We seek to create a publicly-available Information Network and a scholarly resource that features profiles of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) designers, both living and deceased, that will be utilized for student research, in the sourcing of culturally-relevant case studies for practice-based coursework, and to support content creation in shared knowledge. We use the term design to be inclusive of the board range of built environment thinkers and practitioners across scales and fields including but not limited to art, architecture, art history, activism, landscape architecture, engineering, urban planning, urban design, and more.

If you identify as BIPOC and have made a contribution to education or practice in the built environment or know someone who has, we welcome you to submit a nomination form to be considered for inclusion in this resource. If nominating multiple designers, please submit a new form for each person. If you have any questions, contact us at bipocdesign@mit.edu.
