Why we created this webinar series:
Marine ecosystems don't start and stop at international borders, so when it comes to the effects of climate change on the ocean, we're all in the same boat. An effective response requires teamwork.

To that end, NERACOOS and CIOOS Atlantic teamed up to host a three-part webinar series featuring discussions with local experts on scientific, economic, and policy issues facing coastal communities spanning the Arctic to the Northeastern seaboard of the United States.
Each of the three seminars coincided with part of the 2021 voyage of the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Healy, which partnered with Canada to undertake a research cruise circumnavigating North America. As the Healy passed through the Arctic, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and the Gulf of Maine, experts in a variety of subjects spoke about the challenges they've encountered, and how we might develop solutions that transcend borders.
