Marshalltown City Planner
Congratulations to Caleb Knutson, Commissioner with the Iowa Commission of Latino Affairs for his new position as Marshalltown's City Planner.
Biography: Caleb was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and grew up in rural Iowa. After his freshman year of college he moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado to work for a humanitarian-focused nonprofit. In 2010, Caleb returned back to rural Iowa, where he currently resides with his wife and three children. Upon returning, Caleb finished his Bachelor of Arts and a master's degree in Community and Regional Planning from Iowa State University.
Caleb is an active member of his community, serving as a board member for Story City’s Greater Chamber Connection, where he is the Economic Vitality chair. This past August he was appointed to the Empower Rural Iowa: Grow Taskforce.

Free Tax Return Preparation for Qualifying Taxpayers
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people who generally make $56,000 or less, persons with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals.

8th Annual LGBTQ Health & Wellness Conference
This conference is aimed at addressing the health inequities and disparities LGBTQ Iowans continue to experience in our state. Health care professionals and community members alike gather to hear from key experts, participate in interactive workshops, and collaborate and connect with one another.
Attendees will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to cultivate safe and welcoming health care environments for LGBTQ Iowans throughout the state.
