Outsmart Germs!

Some people think a quick rinse under running water will take care of germs. Or worse yet, they just go about the day without even thinking about the germs they may have picked up along the way. Handwashing is especially important. We use our hands all the time and end up picking up millions of germs, some of which are harmful to us.

The purpose of the glo germ handwashing experiment is to teach proper handwashing techniques and to show how easily germs can spread. This experiment illustrates the importance of thorough hand washing and shows students the reality of their current habits using the GloGerm system. This is a program led by UF/IFAS Extension for children grades K-5.
