Guidelines for systemic mortgage and payment breaks from the European Banking Authority

Question for written answer  E-001902/2021
to the Commission
Rule 138
Seán Kelly (PPE)

On 2 December 2020, the European Banking Authority (EBA) reactivated its guidelines for systemic mortgage and payment breaks.

The hospitality sector, as well the music, entertainment and wider arts industries, have been severely affected by the pandemic. Workers in this industry are enduring their longest continuous period of forced unemployment by adhering to government restrictions.

Are there are any plans for the EBA to recommend the continuation of the existing guidelines or the introduction of alternative guidelines after 31 March 2021?
