The Oltenia Energy Complex is a mainstay of the Romanian power supply network and, together with its affiliates, employs thousands of workers, guaranteeing Romania’s energy independence. At the same time, it needs to be modernised in order to meet the new environmental challenges facing us today.

The Romanian Government has accordingly submitted a restructuring and decarbonisation plan to the Commission. Unfortunately, however, negotiations are dragging out, leaving the complex and its workforce uncertain as to their future.

What view does the Commission take of the restructuring plan submitted by the Romanian Government?

When does it expect to conclude negotiations with its Romanian interlocutors?
