Question for written answer  E-001106/2021
to the Commission
Rule 138
Maite Pagazaurtundúa (Renew)

In its joint pandemic strategy the EU has undertaken to do all in its power to accelerate the development and deployment of safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines. Moreover, it has set summer 2021 as a target for vaccinating at least 70% of adults in the Member States.

Meanwhile, various health authorities in different domains have considered making vaccination compulsory in certain places such as retirement homes, for activities such as tourism or even across the board.

The Council of Europe’s Parliamentary Assembly has asked to be kept informed on its calls for the vaccination to be optional and for nobody to be pressured into being vaccinated against their will.
