The e-learning platform Anton was developed by Berlin-based company Soloco and funded by the Commission. In its day-to-day application in schools, Anton has proven to have serious data protection deficiencies, which the developer admits it was aware of before the online platform went live. These deficiencies endanger the data of schoolchildren and their teachers.

• 1.Before approving its funding, did the Commission check whether the e-learning platform complied with Union data protection rules, to ensure it would actually protect particularly vulnerable young children and adolescents?
• 2.What action is it considering taking against the software developer behind the Commission-funded e-learning platform, in view of the fact that it hushed up data protection issues which persist even now that the platform is live?
