Sustainability labelling

Question for written answer  E-001471/2021
to the Commission
Rule 138
Peter Lundgren (ECR)

As part of its ‘New Consumer Agenda’, the Commission wants to introduce a standardised sustainability label showing the impact that a product has on the climate, the environment, and social factors. The labelling is intended for all products. The aim is to give consumers more information on products, and to prevent ‘green-washing’ and other false sustainability claims.

How does the Commission think the sustainability label should look, and how will it affect the market?
