Public Land Order No. 7889; Extension of Public Land Order No.
7420; Arizona

AGENCY: Bureau of Land Management, Interior.

ACTION: Public Land Order.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY: This Public Land Order (PLO) extends the duration of the
withdrawal created by PLO No. 7420 for an additional 20-year term. PLO
No. 7420 would otherwise expire on December 3, 2019. This extension is
necessary to continue to protect the value of the capital investments,
water-oriented developments, and dispersed recreation in the Bureau of
Reclamation's (BOR) Lake Roosevelt expansion area. PLO No. 7420
withdrew 9,175 acres of National Forest System lands from location and
entry under the United States mining laws, but not from leasing under
the mineral leasing laws, for a 20-year period. The lands have been and
will remain open to mineral and geothermal leasing.

DATES: This PLO takes effect on December 4, 2019.
