Rule 138
Bernhard Zimniok (ID)
In April 2019 the European Parliament adopted a plan, under the European Border and Coast Guard Regulation, for a 10 000-strong Frontex reserve force to be established by 2027. The Commission integrated the plans into its new Migration and Asylum Package but made the timeframe much tighter, with a new deadline of 1 January 2021.
- 1.How many members of the 10 000-strong reserve force have been available, fully equipped, since 1 January 2021?
- 2.How quickly (in hours, days, weeks, months, years) can the force be deployed at the coasts of Member States bordering the Mediterranean?
- 3.If the force cannot yet be deployed, what are the precise reasons for this?
