Seasonal Shellfish Restoration Specialist

The Seasonal Shellfish Restoration Specialist will work under the direct supervision of the Science Technician to support the Center’s Shellfish Enhancement program, which takes waste oyster shells collected from area restaurants and turns them into artificial oyster reefs in the Inland Bays. The primary role of the Seasonal Shellfish Restoration Specialist will be to increase the Inland Bays wild oyster population by performing regular maintenance on the Center’s research aquaculture lease, creating artificial reef and living shoreline structures, assisting with the collection of recycled shells, supporting existing reef maintenance and monitoring, and educating the public on the importance of shellfish restoration efforts. FILING A COMPLAINT OF DISCRIMINATION

Individuals who believe that the Center has discriminated against someone on the basis of race, color, national origin (including limited English proficiency), sex, disability or age may file a complaint. Intimidation and retaliation are also prohibited by EPA’s nondiscrimination regulation and claims of intimidation and retaliation will be handled in the same manner as other claims of discrimination. The person or organization filing the complaint need not be a victim of the alleged discrimination but may complain on behalf of another person or group.
