Rule 138
Özlem Demirel (The Left)
Europol’s European Migrant Smuggling Centre (EMSC) operates an Information Clearing House that serves to gather information from the police, military and, sometimes, intelligence agencies. It is used to draw up an overview of the situation with a view to combating irregular migration. The Information Clearing House will also be used in forthcoming ‘joint action days’ organised by Europol or Frontex with the participation of Interpol, EUNAVFOR MED IRINI and third countries.
- 1.What migration routes does the Information Clearing House currently cover and what data is collected there?
- 2.Can the Commission confirm that no intelligence information is exchanged as part of the clearing house’s activities and, if not, how is the processing of such information regulated?
- 3.In which joint action days will the clearing house take part in 2021, and which third countries will receive situation reports or analyses from the clearing house as part of this process?
