In December 2020, the Commission announced that Parliament and the Council had reached an agreement on the budget for Horizon Europe, the EU's new research and innovation programme, for the period 2021-2027. According to the Commission, after lengthy negotiations, the budget was agreed at some EUR 95.5 billion for 2021-2027 (current prices), a 30% increase over the budget for the current research and innovation programme, Horizon 2020.
- 1.What are the criteria for allocating funds, and were aspects related to economic, social and territorial cohesion taken into account, including increased funding for countries that require extra support these areas?
- 2.Will there be a minimum allocation per country? If so, how much will be allocated to each country?
- 3.How much are the estimates for spending on military and health research and development (R&D)?
