Lessons for the Commission from Brexit

Brexit, which was passed by referendum on 23 June 2016, constitutes a major event in the history of the European Union. After lengthy negotiations, an agreement governing relations between the UK and the EU was reached at the last minute on 24 December 2020. It has yet to be ratified by the European Parliament after being provisionally implemented.

Based on the lessons from Brexit, will the Commission be making drastic changes to its social, economic and migration framework, including enabling economic patriotism and the protection of national borders?
