Catches of the week

  • Alumni Pond: David Castellano, 11, of Las Cruces caught a 12-inch rainbow trout Feb. 25. He was using green PowerBait.
  • Elephant Butte Lake: Jeff Martinez of Albuquerque caught a 40-pound blue catfish Feb. 26. He was using cut bait.
  • Tingley Beach: Charisma Charles of Albuquerque caught two nice rainbow trout at the Youth Pond Feb. 26. It was her first time fishing and she was using green PowerBait.
  • Ute Lake: Art Cordova of Logan caught a 7.12-pound walleye Feb. 22. He was using a Sling Blade. Mike Dorgelo of Logan caught an 8.70-pound walleye Feb. 27. He was using a jig and grub combination.
