Description

The 2016 Michigan Suicide Prevention Conference is a safeTALK certification event. safeTALK is a 3 hour suicide awareness training which will prepare anyone over the age of 15, regardless of prior experience or training to become a suicide-alert helper. All those who attend the conference MUST attend a safeTALK session, either in the morning or the afternoon. Please do not register for this conference if you have already attended or do not want to attend safeTALK.

Welcome to the 2016 Michigan Suicide Prevention Conference registration. This one day free event is open to all Michigan Department of Health and Human Services' child welfare staff, private agency child welfare partners, and foster parents statewide.

Please note, ALL attendees are REQUIRED to attend one of the half-day safeTALK certification trainings. In addition to the mandatory safeTALK training, workshops will be available at the attendees' preference including bullying, social media awareness, secondary trauma, LGBTQ population, connectedness, and a keynote presentation by Cheryl A. King, Ph.D., Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Director of the Youth Depression and Suicide Prevention Research Program and Mary A. Rackham Institute, University of Michigan.
