Registration is now open for groups, subgroups, virtual groups, and Alternative Payment Model (APM) Entities that intend to administer the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) for MIPS Survey as part of their traditional MIPS, MIPS Value Pathway (MVP), or APM Performance Pathway (APP) reporting. Registration closes on June 30, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET. 

Medicare Shared Savings Program Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) are required to report the APP Plus quality measure set beginning in PY 2025 and are automatically registered for the CAHPS for MIPS Survey. However, they'll still need to contract with a CMS-approved survey vendor to administer the CAHPS for MIPS Survey
 

To report an MVP for the 2025 performance year, you must register in advance. The MVP registration window is open until December 1, 2025 at 8.p.m. ET. 

If you’re registering for an MVP that includes the CAHPS for MIPS Survey measure and you plan on administering the survey as 1 of your 4 required quality measures, you must complete your MVP registration by June 30, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET. You must also complete a separate CAHPS for MIPS Survey measure registration by June 30, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET.

The deadline for MIPS eligible clinicians and their representatives to sign in to submit and review their data for the 2024 performance year has been extended (in response to the National Intravenous (IV) Fluid Shortage) until April 14, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET.

In response to the ongoing national IV fluid shortage, CMS will reopen the 2024 MIPS Extreme and Uncontrollable Circumstances (EUC) Exception Application to provide relief to practices impacted by the IV fluid shortage. The application will reopen Monday, March 31, 2025, at 10 a.m. ET, and will close April 14, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET.
