Belarusian nuclear plant in Ostrovets

In a debate at 9.00, MEPs are set to request that the launch of a Belarusian nuclear plant in Ostrovets be suspended due to serious concerns over its safety. The vote will take place at 13.45.

Debates on the situation in Rwanda, Kazakhstan, Uganda and Ethiopia

From around 9.30, Parliament will hold urgent debates on Rwanda, and the case of Paul Rusesabagina, on the human rights situation in Kazakhstan, and on the political situation in Uganda. At around 15.30, MEPs will debate with the European Commission the humanitarian situation in Ethiopia.

Votes



The results of Wednesday’s votes will be announced at 9.00 on, among other things:



  • Extending COVID-19 relief measures for transport (slots, certificates, licences)

  • The implementation of the EU Association Agreement with Ukraine

  • The European Skills Agenda for sustainable competitiveness, social fairness and resilience

  • The Markets in Financial Instruments Directive and Prospectus Regulation.



The first voting session, in which MEPs will vote on amendments to different resolutions, will take place between 9.45 and 11.00. Results will be announced at 13.00.


The second voting session lasts from 13.45 to 15.00, with results announced at 16.30.


MEPs will take final votes on:


  • The humanitarian and political situation in Yemen
  • The situation in Myanmar
  • Challenges ahead for women’s rights: more than 25 years after the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action
  • Safety of the nuclear power plant in Ostrovets (Belarus)
  • Rwanda, the case of Paul Rusesabagina
  • Human rights situation in Kazakhstan
  • The political situation in Uganda.
