Public Health Microsoft 365 Implementation Manager (Project/Program Manager III)

08/13/2021 05:50 PM PDT

Public Health is seeking candidates interested to lead Public Health’s ongoing migration to Microsoft 365 and other related technology solutions in a way that supports staff and minimizes disruptions to business continuity.  This is a unique opportunity to work across all Public Health divisions and various lines of business.  The Public Health Microsoft 365 Implementation Project Manager will provide project planning and management to facilitate a successful implementation of new tools and systems.

King County is in the process of launching Microsoft 365, replacing the legacy suite of Microsoft products.  This includes several significant changes in the software environment (migration to the cloud, updating security approaches to align with new tools, and transition of shared files and other collaborative platforms to SharePoint and Teams) that will have an impact on the day-to-day work of Public Health workforce members.  This new environment also requires the development of a robust architecture that supports the retention and disposition of electronic records and incorporates records management principles into the information management approach with the new tools.  Due to the size and complexity of Public Health with its multiple divisions with very different business needs plus the sheer number of staff in Public Health, a customized approach is required to ensure that the transition to these new tools has a minimal impact on the delivery of Public Health services.

Strong preference will be given to candidates with direct experience in King County government The position reports to the Deputy Director of the Public Health Administrative Services Division.
