The Maine Department of Labor’s Bureau of Employment Services provides a variety of employment and training services for Maine workers, businesses, and jobseekers through the Maine CareerCenter network.

Maine’s Rapid Response program assist workers facing job loss due to downsizing or closures. Rapid Response has helped tens of thousands of Maine workers laid off from a variety businesses no matter the size or number of employees.  The goal is to assist workers in determining their next steps towards reemployment.  Whether it is immediate job search or training assistance.  

The National Resource Directory (NRD) is a resource website that connects wounded warriors, Service Members, Veterans, their families, and caregivers to programs and services that support them.  NRD provides access to services and resources at the national, state and local levels to support recovery, rehabilitation and community reintegration.

Maine Community Action Partnership ~ MeCAP is a statewide organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of Maine people. Maine Community Action Programs (CAP) assist people with a variety of programs including housing, fuel assistance, transportation, and other basic needs.

National Mental Health Awareness Month

AccessMaine was developed to assist Mainers with disabilities, their families, and providers. There is also lots of information here that is useful to employers, educators, researchers, and the general public.

National Military Appreciation Month

The State of Maine provides nearly 20 different programs for veterans, including free education for dependents of 100% permanent and totally disabled veterans, property tax  exemptions, state parks and museum passes, support for homeless veterans, and hunting and fishing licenses for disabled veterans
