People in West Sussex are being encouraged by the local NHS to take part in a public consultation on proposals to move mental health inpatient services based at the Department of Psychiatry in Eastbourne District General Hospital to a new home.

These services could be relocated to sites either in Bexhill or around Amberstone Hospital, near Hailsham. The Bexhill site is the preferred option. If approved, this would be the first phase towards creating a leading centre for mental health services on a single ‘campus’, which could, over time, address all mental health inpatient needs across Sussex.

The consultation closes on Monday 6 September.

To find out how to get involved, go to the Improving Mental Health website.
